Habitat for Humanity Building

The Young Adult Circle is starting to team up with Habitat for
Humanity in both San Jose and the upper Peninsula with some
ongoing projects and a fundraiser in October.

Silicon Valley Habitat for Humanity has several building projects
currently in San Jose: restoring two Victorians at 13th and Julian,
building 5 homes on Murphy Street, and a one home Women's Build at
Willow Street.

We work 8 to 4, Wednesday through Sunday. Tools are provided. Wear
sturdy shoes and bring your lunch.

RETREAT COMMITTEE - Meeting After Tonight's Stanford Young Adults
Dinner.

A core committee is meeting to plan the Fall Retreat, Oct 27-29 in
the East Bay. No experience necessary, just motivated individuals
eager to participate and meet other young adults. Open to all
interested persons from Deanery 2.

Fr. David(dwgeib@stanford.edu) will answer all questions about the
retreat and will be at the Oasis on Tuesday.

It is adjacent to the parish rectory, up the road from the
parochial school, nearer to Highway 280. It is NOT near St.
Nicholas church, which is visible from Foothill Expressway.

From the Foothill Expressway heading south, turn right on El
Monte Ave. Look for the special left turn lane and the sign for
St. Nicholas School on the left, just before Highway 280.

Carpools from the Stanford area will be leaving a little after
7PM from UniChu, 1611 Stanford Ave.

Monthly Taize Prayer at Mercy Center
First Friday of Every Month
October 6th, 8PM

Mercy Center in Burlingame

Taize Prayer (named for the town in France where the movement
originated) is simple Christian phrases/chants set to music and
then repeatedly sung in community, with veneration of the cross
during the service. This ecumenical spiritual experience draws
people from all over the Bay Area. Please bring a pillow to pray
in comfort, either in pews or on the carpeted floor.
Socializing/food after the service is optional.

Souls in Motion: A Dance Party for Young Adults

For Bay Area Catholic Young Adults (21 to early 40's). Come be
involved in this interactive evening filled with international
folk dances and your favorite hopping tunes DJ'd from the 70's to
today's hits. That's not all, folks! Included in the mix are
intriguing games and tasty treats. Something for everybody!

Limited tickets: $25.00 till 9/30, $30 after 9/30. No tickets sold
