Taize Prayer at Mercy Center
Dear Fellow YA,

Every first Friday of every month, Taize Prayer Around the Cross
is offered at Mercy Center in Burlingame at 8 p.m. This
ecumenical spiritual experience draws people from all over the Bay
Area.

Taize (named for the town in France where the ecumenical movement
originated) is simple Christian phrases/chants set to music and
then repeatedly sung in community. Some of you may well be
familiar with Taize heard mostly during Lent (Stay with Me, Jesus
Remember Me, etc.).

The Young Adults of the Diocese of San Jose have a long-standing
tradition of monthly carpooling to Mercy Center for Taize, then
going out for dinner afterward.

Carpooling is encouraged as parking is limited and prime seating is

at a premium, so it is best to arrive at Mercy Center by 7:30.
Please bring a pillow to pray in comfort.

See you on First Friday.

Peace and God bless,

More on the Da Vinci Code...

Da Vinci Code, Movie and Book: Talk Fr. David MercerAt St. Lucy Church, Wednesday, May 31, 7:30 - 9:00 p.m., with Fr. Dave Mercer. What’s fact? What’s fiction? The movie has resurrected much of the controversy stirred up by the book three years ago. The book claims to be well-researched, so what can we learn about Jesus, the Catholic Church, and Christian teaching from the book and now the movie? What evidence supports Jesus being married or not? What were the sources that the Da Vinci Code based its claims on? What do art experts say about the “secrets” within Leonardo’s artwork? Also addressed will be what the Da Vinci Code says about the Bible, Mary Magdalene, the secretive Opus Dei, Holy Grail, Knights Templar, and more. If the book or movie confuses you, if people ask you questions that you don’t know how to answer, or if you’re simply curious about the Da Vinci Code’s claims, you are welcome to join us at St. Lucy Church, 2350 Winchester Blvd., Campbell: (408) 378-2464.

SFS YA Group

Hello there!
I hope you are having a wonderful Easter season.
Our young adult group is currently in the middle of planning events for the summer.
In the meantime, we would like to invite you to two upcoming events:1. The next theology on tap will be this Sunday from 7 until 9 pm at Scruffy Murphy's Pub in Sunnyvale.
Father Kevin Joyce will be speaking on the Da Vinci Code. It should be a great event-
I will be there!

2. Come help the needy with a service project for EHC on June 3, 2006.
See below for me information. Help is needed the most from 7 am until 9 am; However, any time you can give would be great. I am planning on being there in the afternoon from 2:00 until 4:30 pm, and then head over to the 5 pm mass. Anyone is invited to join me!
Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,Chris Miller
